I love me, I love me not. The truth behind our insecurities: My dad picked this flower for my daughter last week. Naturally over the course of 7-10 days it began to wilt so he picked a new one for me today. As I went to replace the old with the new, the petals from the old came gracefully tumbling down. I reflected on the classic “he loves me, he loves me not” game from childhood & thought about how stupid it is. Why would we train ourselves from a young age to look for validation & worth from any source outside of ourselves. True love begins within, and we can only love another to the extent we are willing to truly love ourselves. I realize now I should have said “Screw this game! I love me.” Love is a choice, so don’t leave it up to chance. Choose love, and begin with yourself today. View high resolution
